Sims is an active participant in several organizations, including Mississippi State Medical Association, Mississippi Medical and Surgical Association and American College of Obstetricians Gynecologists. She is also the Associate Program Director for Wellness, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Jaleen Sims is a practicing board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist in Jackson, Mississippi. ![]() Additionally, she has been listed as one of the “Top 25 Women in Houston,” and has been featured in Essence Magazine and several national publications.ĭr. Sloan was chosen as the TEDMED Front Line Scholars. ![]() Sloan helped to launch a telemedicine company as the Virtual OrthoDoc, one of the first of its kind in telehealth and orthopedics. She is a consultant, blogger, and speaker for CompHealth and DairyMax, a national partner to the NFL and Fuel Up to Play 60 initiative, which promotes proper youth daily nutrition. Sloan currently serves on several Board of Trustees including, Black Women Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Institute of Spirituality and Health, RoweDocs Telemedicine, and Tristar Global Medical Inc. She has authored and published research projects in Orthopedic Surgery and a joint venture with NASA, Johnson Space Center. Sloan completed her residency at Baylor College of Medicine where she made history as both the first African-American female Intern in General Surgery and the first African-American female Orthopedic Surgery resident.
