It’s just weird in that stuff like this would lead you to believe that Atlus is still this independent studio and Persona is still this super niche franchise as the budget for this remake must be very conservative and the team size must be very small if they can’t scope this project to include either FES or P3P content. But by nature of it being a remake built with their existing tech one would think that making this would a notably smaller resource strain than something like base P5 was thus allowing for a budget that could include content from the alternate P3 releases. I say that because, yes, remaking a game is not an insignificant task. It’s definitely not lazy (that’s a ignorant thing to say) but it is strange. That initial statement we read from IGN likely was a failed attempt at generalizing it. And the second word likely refers to the main story changes that FES introduced. The first word is certainly referring to The Answer. In "later story," the word used is 後日談, which can mean "sequel." And in the "main story added," he uses 本編内. However, this does not mean that certain elements in the main story added in FES are not included in Reload at all.* TL Note: He uses an interesting word choice. So this means that we will not include the later story added in Persona 3 FES or the female protagonist from Persona 3 Portable. Persona 3 Reload was a project meant to recreate the very first Persona 3 for modern platforms. How is Persona 3 Reload going to be positioned? Nishitsuma Ryota: I want to make sure there are no misunderstandings here. Interviewer: Incidentally, there was also Persona 3 FES, a version of the game that featured numerous additions, and Persona 3 Portable, which allowed you to choose a female protagonist.
