![]() ![]() Let’s dive into all things Cannonball and look into the Cannonball Run record books. You need a high-refresh monitor to be able to see it at 120fps, obviously. The Cannonball Run is an unparalleled street race with one goal: drive from New York to California in the least amount of time. I recorded a 120fps video in case anyone is interested in seeing it in motion. If it's also OLED, that would be even sweeter. I still don't know why Anbernic put a high refresh display into this device, but I really want 120fps to become the standard sooner rather than later. IMO, it's better than my modded Switch or Vita for playing retro games. With this being my first "Chinese Handheld", I'm super impressed with the device, at least with JELOS. Unfortunately, choosing different CPU Governors didn't help. Like modern consoles, it's a choice you'll have to make. The only drawback as far as I can tell is that the game cannot be run at 120fps + Hi-Res graphics at the same time because the RG353P doesn't have enough horsepower, so it's a choice between 60fps + Hi Res, or 120fps + standard def. It's quite amazing to experience this kind of fps on such a tiny dedicated handheld gaming device such as this and I would say the ultra-smooth refresh rate, combined with the ergonomics of the RG353P and the stellar job done by Cannonball team, this is the ultimate way to play this game, surpassing even 3D Outrun on the 3DS by M2, at least for me.Ĭannonball 120fps on RG353P // Integer Scaling ON Except for some slowdown at the very beginning of the run, the game runs a buttery smooth and locked 120fps. Today, I did Cannonball and was surprised to find a 120fps frame rate option and was blown away with how smooth the game ran. Having received the RG353P just a few days ago, I only saw glimpses of the high refresh rate in some menus but I didn't think much of it as I didn't think there was any use for it on a device such as this and went about copying all my roms and ports over to the device. I first heard about the RG353P having a 124hz display from Taki Udon and he actually verified that it's a 124hz display with the help of a MiPi analyzer.
